I have a really big printer and I print in strips then wheat paste. I'm originally a fine art photographer so I have the equipment to do large archival prints. The inks from the printer are waterproof so you can print on just about anything then wheatpaste the hell out of it.

The one with the 1up hat has been up in Brooklyn for about 8 years now without wearing out too much. I was suprised by how long they last when nobody fucks with them.

Thanks for the compliment.

so sick. I'm envious. with the wheatpasting process, do you put the paste on the strips, or do you put it on the wall then put the strips on the wall? I think all the wheatpastes are really sick though! :)

Honestly, the best adhesive I've found is plain old Elmer's glue. You can buy it really cheap in 5 gallon jugs at Home Depot. What is so great about it is how it dries clear.

When you make wheat paste it has a tendency to dry brown. If you get it on the front of the print it just fucks everything up.

With glue you can slap that shit everywhere and it dries clear.

I bring a roller with a bucket of glue. You can even water down the glue to get more use out of a 5 gallon bucket. I spread the glue all over the wall first. Then I just put the sheets on the wall and line them up. With enough glue they easily slide around and let you position them.

After it is all on the wall I use the roller again to put a coat over the whole thing. This puts a good layer of protection on the image as well.

The 1up head I use for my icon was the first pasting I made. It has now been up on the wall for 5 years. It looks a bit worn but I'm honored that nobody has taken it down or painted crap all over it in Brooklyn. If you're in the area it is right by Relish in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

Good luck with the pasting!!!!! Don't get busted!
